Group M Media to offer data analytics services

Purvita Chatterjee

Mumbai , Dec. 15

GROUP M Media India Pvt Ltd is scaling up its expertise in data analytics by forming a joint venture with IT major Covansys (India) Pvt. Ltd.

The new company has been christened Meritus Analytics India Pvt Ltd. It will offer data analytics services to potential clients in marketing, financial, healthcare and retail verticals worldwide.

Covansys is a global technology services vendor with broad interest in knowledge process outsourcing and more specifically in data analytics. According to Group M officials, the new company will be a one-stop shop for potential clients in the selected verticals, as it will have end-to-end solution capability — from raw/summary data to actionable insights. In effect, it would provide the new generation CEOs a `sure-fire' way to yield the maximum return on investment.

A Group M official told Business Line, "These will not be the regular services that Mindshare has been already providing, and will be different from the conventional business of media buying."

In fact, Advanced Technology Group, a division of Group M, will be involved in the operations of this newly formed entity. Meritus is being positioned as `A WPP/Group M house of analytics'.

Mr Ashutosh Srivastava, Chief Executive Officer, Group M, South Asia, has initiated a meet later this week titled `The Analytic Edge for Future Perfect', where industry experts and academia will be present to launch the operations of Meritus Analytics in India.
