Air France expects 20% growth from Indian operations

AIR France said on Thursday that it expects to grow 20 per cent during the next few years in India.

The Air France KLM Chairman & CEO, Mr Jean-Cyril Spinetta, told newspersons that the number of flights had grown to 29 in 2005 from 10 in 2003. He said Air France's market share for flights into India from Europe was around 10 per cent while that of Lufthansa was 14 per cent. "We should be on a par with them sooner than expected," Mr Spinetta said.

He said Air France wouldalso start daily flights from Bangalore to Paris soon. Currently, Air France flies five flights a week. There are daily flights from and to Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai.
