Mr Ravi Mehrotra

Kolkata , Dec. 15

MR Ravi Mehrotra, President, Franklin Templeton India, has quit.

Mr Mehrotra, who has been in the private-sector asset management industry since 1993 when the erstwhile Kothari Pioneer Mutual Fund was launched, is tipped to join AIG.

Kothari Pioneer, which was India's first privately-held fund house, was acquired by Franklin Templeton a few years ago. Prior to becoming President in 2003, Mr Mehrotra was Director and Chief Investment Officer (Equity) at FT.

There is no indication at this stage that a succession plan has been worked out. FT, now among India's top fund management companies (in terms of asset size), offers a wide range of schemes.
