Software Variety - Sports Cricket contest for CTS staff in Hyderabad Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Dec 16 CRICKET fever seems to have caught up with IT companies as well. Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS), the IT firm, is planning to celebrate the game with a two-day event in Hyderabad. With the India-Sri Lanka, Pakistan-England and Australia-South Africa contests on and the year-end usually being less hectic, the Chennai-headquartered CTS has hit upon the idea of `Cricnizant'. To be held during December 17-18 at the RRC Grounds here, `Cricnizant' will bring employees of the IT company from across its seven development centres in the country. Cognizant has been holding the tournament during weekends over the last four months with over 250 teams (approximately 4,000 of its employees or 25 per cent of its India headcount) participating, according to a release. The Hyderabad development centre is hosting the grand finals in which nine teams will fight it out for the trophy. It will have professional umpires from the Hyderabad Cricket Association live video, action replay, scorers, live commentary, and a third umpire. In addition to Chennai, Cognizant has centres at Hyderabad, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune.
