Fortinet tool upgrade

Our Bureau

BANGALORE: Security solutions provider Fortinet has launched FortiMail-2000 and FortiMail 2.2, a firmware product.

FortiMail-2000 is a messaging appliance targeted at very large enterprises, universities and security service providers. FortiMail 2.2 firmware adds certain features, such as enhanced spam detection and checksum blocklist. This inspects all content within an e-mail, including attachments and graphics, and applies a "checksum" against the content to determine whether it is spam.

Another feature included is a grey list, which checks `reply to,' `from' and `IP' headers for new email senders and delays response to suspicious e-mail servers.

The firmware also includes new regulatory compliance features such as archiving and quarantining and produces spam reports. The firmware upgrade is available to all FortiMail customers with valid support contracts for free.
