Patch for IE security flaw

Our Bureau

BANGALORE: If you use Internet Explorer as your Web browser, then beware of the security flaw that compromises your computer.

Microsoft Corp recently identified the "critical" flaw in a security bulletin on December 13.

The company is urging users to download and install the patch available at its Web site, www.microsoft.com/security.

"A security issue has been identified that could allow an attacker to compromise a computer running Internet Explorer and gain control over it," says the Web site.

So, without the patch, an attacker could possibly take over an unprotected computer by running a software code after luring users to malicious Web pages. According to Web statistics, 73.5 per cent of netizens use Internet Explorer.
