Our Bureau

Mumbai , Dec. 20

DWARIKESH Sugar Industries Ltd (DSIL) commenced crushing at its greenfield project of 5,500 tonnes per day (TCD; expandable up to 7,500 TCD) at Bahadarpur in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh.

With the commencement of the project, the company's capacity has increased to 12,000 TCD.

While the good results for the year ended September 2005 reflect the costs absorbed in setting up the new greenfield project, the benefits there from will flow during the current financial year that will end in September 2006, release said.

The company has also commenced 9-MW bagasse based captive power plant, which will cater to the entire power requirement for the new project resulting in significant cost savings.
