Mixed trend in rubber continues

Our Correspondent

Kottayam , Dec. 22

A MIXED trend continued to prevail in the domestic spot rubber market on Thursday. Covering groups were active in selected grades since there were no quantity sellers in the main marketing centres amidst news on extremely low supply.

RSS 5 and latex remained steady and rather inactive while ISNR 20 firmed up on renewed export enquiries. NMCE January contract closed at Rs 71.40 (71.08), February contract at Rs 73.15 (72.98), March contract at Rs 74.20 (74.02) and April contract at Rs 75.73 (75.44) a kg for RSS 4.

January futures for the grade improved marginally to 200.3 yen from 199.8 yen a kg at TOCOM.

The physical rubber prices per kg were: RSS-4: Rs 69.75 (Rs 69.50); RSS-5: Rs 68.00 (Rs 68.00); ungraded: Rs 66.50 (Rs 66.00); ISNR 20: Rs 68.25 (Rs 67.75) and latex 60 per cent: Rs 48.00 (Rs 48.00)
