Mangalore , Dec. 22

GLOBAL E-SoftSys Pvt Ltd, an enterprise and e-business software solutions provider, will open its new offshore software development centre in Mangalore on Friday.

Addressing newspersons here on Thursday, Mr K.U. Shenoy, the company chairman, said that the company has a development centre in Bangalore, and offices in the US, UK, and Canada.

The company is planning to set up a modern laboratory for embedded systems development at the Mangalore software development centre. He said the Mangalore facility could accommodate 200 software professionals in multiple shifts.

Asked about the reasons for selecting Mangalore for software development centre, he said that the city has witnessed significant improvements in infrastructure and other facilities in the past year. Dakshina Kannada and Udupi have some of the good IT educational institutions in the State.

"We plan to increase the strength at our Mangalore development centre to provide BPO services along with software development, maintenance, customers support and multimedia services," he said.

He said the company would soon launch e-SSM — a Web-based multi-facility management software designed to centralise operational control.

Mr Shenoy said that Mr Shankaralinge Gowda, Secretary, Department of IT, BT and Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, would inaugurate the development centre on Friday. Mr B.V. Naidu, Director, Software Technology Parks of India, Bangalore, and Mr N. Yogish Bhat, Member of Legislative Assembly, Mangalore, will be present on the occasion, he added.
