Lok Sabha passes three Bills on professional bodies

PARLIAMENT has passed three Bills to amend the legislations governing chartered accountancy, cost accountancy and company secretaryship.

The Bills were passed by voice vote in the Lok Sabha on Friday without debate. The Rajya Sabha had passed them on December 13.

The Bills provide for the setting up of an institutionalised disciplinary mechanism, appellate authorities and quality review boards in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, the Institute of Cost and Works Accountantsand the Institute of Company Secretaries.
