Kerala consumer affairs department web site launched

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Chief Minister, Mr Oommen Chandy on Saturday inaugurated the Web site of the Kerala Consumer Affairs Department. He launched the site, www.consumeraffairskerala.gov.in, at a function organised to mark National Consumer Day. The Web site, which is currently available in English, has detailed information on various aspects of consumer affairs. A Malayalam version on the site will be launched by March next year, says a Government press release.

Speaking at the function, the Chief Minister pointed out that consumer protection organisations must play an active role in ensuring that consumers are able to benefit from the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act.
