Cochin Port asked to work on free trade warehousing zone

Kochi , Dec. 26

MR T.K.A. NAIR, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister, held a meeting to review the progress of projects coming up in the Port Based Special Economic Zone.

A decision was taken to set up a Free Trade Warehousing Zone as part of the SEZ and the Cochin Port Trust will take steps to prepare the feasibility report and go for the bid in private-public-participation mode.

It was also decided to have as much manufacturing industries as possible in the SEZ area with a view to generating employment.
