Two cruise vessels coming to Kochi port today

THE cruise vessels Superstar Libra and Astoria will call at the Kochi port on Tuesday (December 27).

The Superstar Libra will arrive with 585 passengers and 770 crew. The vessel arriving from Mumbai at 6.30 a.m. will sail to Mumbai at 4 p.m. on the same day. The vessel, which plys in the western Indian coastal waters, will call at Kochi six times in the coming months. This is the first time that Star Cruises, the leading cruise liner of Asia has placed a vessel in the Indian circuit connecting ports of Mumbai, Goa, Kadamat in Lakshadweep and Kochi. The vessel is doing regular 2-day cruises between Goa and Mumbai.

The Bahamas nationality vessel Astoria has on board 299 passengers and 257 crew. The vessel arriving from Mangalore in the morning will sail to Colombo in the evening on the same day.

A press release issued by Air Travel Enterprises India Ltd, the agents for Star Cruises, said that they are offering wide range of packages on Superstar LibraWith Kochi becoming a port of call, Star Cruises is also going to play a major role in tourism development of Kerala with the prospect of nearly 2,000 passengers disembarking at Kochi for excursions and shopping, the release said.
