Telecommunications Marketing - New Products & Services Indicom launches new service in AP market Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Dec. 27 TATA Indicom today announced the launch of a prepaid wireless desktop phone Indicom 10 targeted at small towns and semi-urban areas. It will initially be launched in 45 towns in Andhra Pradesh. The phone can be installed wherever Tata Indicom network is available. Mr Prabhat Pani, Chief Operating Officer, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka Circles, Tata Teleservices, said in a statement, "With the launch of Indicom 10, we have added a significant product suitable for residence and business community in the small and semi-urban towns. With Indicom 10, we plan to address a much wider market in the wireless `desktop' phone category." Tata Indicom aims to target existing and potential landline customers in small towns with a state-wide rate of 90p per minute. The company said local and intra-circle calls to mobiles, and intra-circle calls to landline will be cheaper. With an activation charge of Rs 1,650, the phone features SMS, speakerphone, caller ID, address book and polyphonic ringtones.
