Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: The city-based Visaka Industries Ltd on Wednesday announced the start of trial production at its Rai Bareilly unit.

The commercial production is all set to begin at the unit, which manufactures fibre cement sheets, with a capacity of 1,20,000 tonnes per annum, a company press release said here. The company has building material units in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Karnataka with a total annual manufacturing capacity of 3,50,000 tonnes of fibre cement.

Visaka Industries has already appointed dealers in UP for whom it is supplying materials from its Midnapore plant in West Bengal. The same dealers will be able to source material from Rae Bareilly unit which would be closer to them thus saving on time and transportation.
