Bangalore terror attack

This refers to the article `Professor killed in attack on IISc' (Business Line, December 29). The news is indeed shocking and distressing. Terrorists are spreading their activities beyond Kashmir and Delhi. And in targeting Bangalore, they have hit the nerve centre of economic activity.

The incident is a sign that we cannot afford to be complacent about intelligent reports. If the warning e-mail to Parliament from Tirunelveli is any indication more vigilance is required and security to all important installations and industries must be strengthened in the South.

A. Jacob Sahayam
