Salary arrears disbursal on Jan 9 — PSU insurance staff to work longer hours

AS part of implementing the revised wage structure, the working hours of the four public sector general insurance companies will be increased from January 2.

As per the Central Government notification in the last week along with the wage revision, the working hours of the staff is increased by 15 minutes daily, said Mr P.P. Mohanan, Kerala State General Secretary of General Insurance Officers All India Association.

Starting from Monday to Thursday, the office time is rescheduled from 10 a.m. to 5.45 p.m. with a lunch interval of 30 minutes. On Friday, it will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The number of days of casual leave has been reduced and the practice of half-day casual leave has been stopped. The holidays on Saturdays and Sundays will continue, he said.

As per the notification, the management is at liberty to transfer the clerical staff (class-3 employees) within a radius of 150 km. The salary arrears effective from August 2002 will be disbursed on January 9, he added.
