Reliance Info adds 1 m mobile users in December

Our Bureau

New Delhi , Dec. 30

RELIANCE Infocomm has added one million new subscribers in December taking its total tally to over 17 million.

This is the second time the company is adding one million subscribers in a month after the huge success of the Monsoon Hangama offer, which was launched when the company had begun its full mobile services.

Last month, rival Tata Teleservices had announced addition of one million users in 45 days riding on the success of its two-year validity offer.

Company sources also said that Reliance has more than doubled its network coverage from 2,300 cities to over 4,500 cities over the last four months when Mr Anil Ambani had taken charge of its telecom business.

The company, which is now the largest private operator, has also set up 3 lakh village telephones making it one of the few private operators having rural presence.
