New Delhi , Jan. 3

THE Union Minister for Petroleum and Panchayati Raj, Mr Mani Shankar Aiyar, on Tuesday reiterated his Ministry's support to the industry chieftains in the their effort to set up business linkages with rural India.

At a meeting organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry, Mr Aiyar said his Ministry would act as the nodal agency in setting up Rural Business Hubs (RBHs), where products would be sourced at the rural level by the village folk, while marketing of the products would be provided by the established corporate houses.

The RBHs would be a bridge between the rural entrepreneurs and the corporate houses, thus channelising the latent resources at the village level.
