Prof C.N.R. Rao, Honorary President of Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (Bangalore), has asked the young scientists to take on challenges thrown open by nano science.

"It is good time for experiments. Don't be afraid of experimenting,'' he said, speaking on `What is happening in the nanoworld'.

He also said that careful investments were needed to take up research in the area. "We missed the opportunity during the semi conductor revolution. We should not repeat that with nano technology,'' he said.

"If we don't join the (nano) race, we will be left behind,'' he cautioned.
