Advisory panel on dock safety

KOCHI:Mr K.V.A. Iyer, Vice-President of the Cochin Port Labour Union representing CITU, has been nominated to the advisory committee on dock safety constituted by the Union Labour Ministry.

The Chairman of the 10-member committee will be the Chief Inspector of Dock Safety (Directorate General Factory Advice and Labour Institutes), Mumbai. The functions of the committee are to ensure dock safety as well as implementation of Dock Safety Act in ports.
