Japanese Minister travels on Delhi Metro

New Delhi , Jan. 4

THE Japanese Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Taro Aso, travelled on Wednesday on the Delhi Metro Rail from the Central Secretariat to R K Ashram Marg.

He was accompanied by Dr E. Sreedharan, Managing Director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (DMRC) and Mr Yasukuni Enoki, Japanese Ambassador to India during the visit.

The Japan Bank for International Co-operation is funding 64 per cent of the project cost for phase I, and discussions are on for the funding of phase II, a DMRC release said.
