A scene from fish breeding farm in Kochi. The climatic conditions and the character of the water bodies of Kerala are reported to be favourable for ornamental fish. The State is home to about 117 species of ornamental fish and about 80 per cent of them are fresh water ones. Coastal areas from Kochi to Vizhinjam attract several species of ornamental fish.
