Indo-US business forum signs pact with Nasscom

Our Bureau

New Delhi , Jan. 5

A DELEGATION from the Washington-based US India Political Action Committee (USINPAC) is in India promoting Indo-US trade linkages.

The US India Business Alliance (USIBA), promoted by USINPAC, has signed an MoU with Nasscom to create `win-win' solutions for the IT and software industries in both countries.

USIBA would also engage US lawmakers to help resolve issues related to H1B visas and delays in visa processing for IT professionals, among others.

It will also attempt to soften anti-outsourcing legislation at the state levels in the US.

The body has held discussions with the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr Kamal Nath, on the ways to enhance linkages between small and medium enterprises in both countries. According to the team, the Minister has promised to set up a coordinating mechanism at the Commerce Ministry to create synergies between the efforts of various industries. The mechanism is also meant to promote bilateral trade forums to accelerate the pace of small business development.
