Corporation Bank offers savings a/c with Rs 10

CORPORATION Bank has introduced `Corp Pragathi' savings bank account — a `no frills' account with zero balance facility.

A bank release said here that the account could be opened with an initial deposit of Rs 10. No penalty will be levied even if the balance drops below Rs 10, it said.

Account holders will be provided chequebook facility, maximum of 10 withdrawals per quarter, and collection, remittance and nomination facilities. Rate of interest is as applicable to normal savings bank account.

This new savings bank account will be available in all branches of the bank.
