H&R Johnson expands capacity in AP plant

TILE manufacturer H&R Johnson (India) Ltd is investing around Rs 50 crore towards capacity expansion at its Vijayawada floor tile unit in Andhra Pradesh.

With the new investment in the facility, the manufacturing capacity at Vijayawada will double from 12,500 sq meters per day to 25,000 sq meters per day, starting from the month-end.

According to the company, its overall capacity-building investments this fiscal will touch Rs 200 crore.

It had earlier announced investment of Rs 110 crore for setting up a manufacturing plant at Ajmer in Rajasthan. H&R Johnson is investing another Rs 40 crore at its Rajkot plant to expand capacity from the present 5,000 sq m per day to 12,000 sq. m. per day.

The company recorded a 32 per cent jump in turnover at Rs 526 crore for the quarter ended December 31.

It is targeting a turnover of Rs 800 crore this fiscal against the Rs 542 crore it recorded last fiscal.

The company manufactures Johnson, Porselano, Maorbonite and Endura brands of tiles and Milano brand for kitchen and bathroom products.
