Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: TVS Tyres, a TVS Group company, will roll out 10 more new tyres (two-wheeler) during 2006.

Mr S. Balasubramanian, Vice-President (Marketing) of TVS Tyres, told presspersons here on Monday that the company has targeted an increase in the market share of `after market' sales from 12 per cent to 17 per cent in the financial year 2006-07.

The total `after market' sales is around Rs 10 lakhs a month. "This market has a potential to grow as the two-wheeler segment is growing fast," he said.

He was in the city in connection with showcasing of seven new tyre variants (Crusader, Terminator, Jumbo, Dragon, Olivia, Badshah and Josh). He said the new rollout was targeted to attract the youth.

The company, which recorded a turnover of Rs 224 crore last year, targeted Rs 320 crore this fiscal. For the first half, the company registered a turnover of Rs 150 crore, with 31 lakh tyres.

"We are expecting to grow at 45 per cent during the current fiscal," he said.

He said the new range of tyres would not cut into the sales of its existing models. "Instead, it will fuel the growth," he said.
