Bangalore , Jan.10

ROBERT Bosch India on Tuesday said it has invested around Rs 85 crore in its Indian operations, including Rs 45 crore in its new centre.

The company also said it is scouting for a second location outside Karnataka to set up a new development centre there.

Robert Bosch Managing Director, Dr Wlater Grote, told newspersons on Tuesday that the new facility in Bangalore was the largest development centre of the Bosch Group outside Germany.

The company has over 2,900 employees in its facilities in India and plans to increase the strength to 6,000 in India by 2010 though the expansion will depend on the market conditions.

The new facility will be used both for engineering and non-engineering activities.

The company provides engineering and non-engineering services to the Bosch Group such as electronic control unit development for automotive, industrial, consumer goods and building technology and IT services, process consulting and IC design.
