New Projects Murudeshwar Ceramics expands capacity Our Bureau
Bangalore , Jan.10 MURUDESHWAR Ceramics Ltd has expanded its production capacity of glazed ceramic tiles to 24,000 sq. m. per day and vitrified tiles to 6,000 sq. m. per day. The commercial production of the first phase of 12,000 sq. m. of glazed ceramic tiles started this year with the second phase of an additional capacity of 12,000 sq. m. expected to go on stream by the first quarter of the next financial year. The company has two manufacturing plants for vitrified tiles at Hubli in Karnataka and Karaikal in Pondicherry. It is expanding the capacity of vitrified tiles by 6000 sq. m. per day at Karaikal, and production will start from January 15, said Mr Satish R. Shetty, Managing Director. With these expansions, Murudeshwar Ceramics will have an aggregate vitrified tiles capacity of 21,000 sq. m. per day. The large size vitrified tiles are being targeted at corporate and institutional customers, he said.
