SMEs driving HP storage sales here

HEWLETT-Packard (HP) said on Tuesday that the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) accounted for close to 60 per cent of the company's storage business in the country.

"India is one of the fastest growing storage markets in the Asia-Pacific region ," said Mr Bob Schultz, Senior Vice-President and General Manager, HP StorageWorks Division.

The company plans to introduce some new products during this year developed specifically for markets like India.

The team at HP's Systems Technology and Software Division in Bangalore has contributed to these products by developing new technology concepts in tandem with their counterparts at labs located worldwide, he said.

Mr Hemant Tiwari, Director (Enterprise Servers and Storage), HP India Sales Pvt Ltd, said that the company was making significant gains with new products like Enterprise Virtual Array and the XP range of online arrays
