Events Satyam, Wipro, MS India bag Gitex awards Our Bureau

Hyderabad , Jan.11 SATYAM Computer, Wipro, Microsoft India R&D and Google (as a start up here) are among a host of IT companies having their centres in Hyderabad chosen by the State Government for awards during the three-day Gitex exposition. The fifth edition of Gitex India, hosted by the Dubai World Trade Centre and the Andhra Pradesh State Information Technology and Communication Department, was inaugurated by the State Chief Minister, Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, was witness to enthusiastic participation by Indian companies, multinationals based in Hyderabad and some new entrants. Several States' stalls have been featured with representation from Karnataka, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, each showcasing their State strengths in infrastructure and what their respective governments are offering for potential investors in the IT sector. While Satyam, Wipro and Microsoft were chosen for their contribution in overall exports from the State, Genpact, HSBC and Dell topped in IT ES. Mackel Components, WeP Peripherals, Hyderabad Flextech were chosen for hardware, in the small and medium enterprise segment, SIS Software, IIC and Yash Technologies received awards. In the SME IT ES sector, 24x7 Customer, Swift Response and Sentini were chosen. NCR Corporation, Google Online India, Danlaw Technologies, Apollo HealthStreet, Apex Solutions, GMD Software, Miracle Software, Xinthe Technologies and Nunet were the other awardees. Alongside this, the Government also exchanged MoUs with Intelligroup, Cognizant, Patni, CBay, Sonata DQ Entertainment, Conexant, Infinite Computer, Zen Technologies, Vasant Scribes, IIC Systems, World Infotech, CAN Infotech, Metaminds and Infotech Enterprises. Gitex has 82 exhibitors and the show attracted trade visitors and delegates from China, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, the US and Taiwan, according to Ms Christina Nicholson, General Manager, Dubai World Trade Centre.
