Ford in-Xs on display at the 8th Auto Expo 2006 in the Capital on Thursday. Ramesh Sharma
New Delhi , Jan 12 FRESH after the launch of the Fiesta, Ford India is now planning to offer a special edition version of the premium sedan redesigned by Mumbai-based car designer, Mr Dilip Chabbria. The new Fiesta variant, which has been named in-Xs (pronounced `in excess'), is currently only in the concept stage. But, the company has showcased a fully functional prototype of the design concept and is willing to consider taking on orders from interested customers. The salient features of the in-Xs model are bi-xenon headlamps with integrated eight individual blue LEDs on top, projector type fog lamps, a brand new, aggressive slated, horizontal bonnet grille, a lower bumper with wire mesh, tail lamps with twin pod LED, twin exhaust pipes, a redesigned dashboard, rally type fender flares, and a new two-tone leather interior with two-tone leather trims. Speaking at the unveiling ceremony at the Auto Expo, Mr Arvind Mathew, Managing Director and President of Ford India, said that the company is testing the market and taking customer feedback for productionising and pricing the in-Xs concept. Customer orders can be taken as soon as we complete the feedback process, he added. In addition to the new design concept, Ford has also brought the iconic Mustang to be showcased at the Auto Expo.
