Kumar Mangalam Birla to head MCA panel

THE Chairman of the Aditya Birla group, Mr Kumar Mangalam Birla, has been appointed Chairman of the Advisory Committee constituted by the Ministry of Company Affairs.

The other members of the committee are Mr S.P. Talwar, former Deputy Governor, RBI; Mr B. Swaroop, Member, Income Tax Settlement Commission; Mr Lalit Bhasin, senior Advocate; and Prof S.P. Narang, senior professor of management; and Mr Jitesh Khosla, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Company Affiars, who will be the convenor.

The committee has been mandated to examine matters arising out of the administration of the Companies Act to suggest a mechanism to make regulations easier.
