New Delhi , Jan. 13

TRIVENI Engineering has entered into an agreement with SBI for providing banking facilities to farmers. At its retail outlets, called Triveni Khushali Bazaar (TKB), the company sells agricultural implements, diesel, fertilisers, and consumer goods. It also provides services, including facilitation of institutional credit, insurance, equipment rental services and consulting.

As per the agreement, TKB will identify the farmers and facilitate the documentation process.

There are about 1,65,000 farmers closely associated with the company, said a statement.

SBI would finance these farmers at "extremely competitive rates of interest, for various purposes such as purchasing of seeds, planting material, fertilisers, pesticides, cattle feeds and even equipment/machineries from TKB," the statement added.

"We will be able to facilitate loan facilities and easy banking options at Triveni Khushali Bazaar," said Mr Tarun Sawhney, Corporate Vice-President, Triveni Engineering.
