Corporation Bank tops growth target for Dec

CORPORATION Bank's total business stood at Rs 51,691 crore as on December 31, above the target of Rs 49,800 crore for December.

Quoting Mr V.K. Chopra, Chairman and Managing Director of the bank, a press release said here on Friday that the bank had surpassed the target fixed for both deposits and advances for the quarter ended December 2005. Mr Chopra was addressing the zonal managers of the bank in Mangalore recently, the release said.

He said the total deposits stood at Rs 29,634 crore as on December 31, as against the target of Rs 29,500 crore. The aggregate advances stood at Rs 22,057 crore as against the target of Rs 20,300 crore. Retail lending constituted Rs 4,974 crore, with housing loans aggregating to approximately Rs 3,000 crore.

The priority sector lending aggregated to Rs 7,792 crore as against the target of Rs 7,325 crore.
