Ramapuram plans resort in Kabini

BANGALORE: Ramapuram Holiday Resorts Ltd, which runs Orange County resort in Coorg, plans to set up another resort in Kabini, Karnataka with an investment of about Rs 12 crore.

The resort, which is to come up on the banks of the river Kabini would be in the luxury segment, but offering "village experience", said the Director (Sales), Mr Cherian T. Ramapuram.

The new resort is expected to be operational by the year-end and will have about 30 cottages and its unique selling proposition would be tribal tourism. The package would include interaction with the tribals, besides wildlife tourism. The company is also looking at setting up a resort in the peripheral zone in Hampi for which it has acquired land.
