Sanak Mishra is Mittal Steel's Jharkhand unit CEO

MITTAL Steel Company has announced the appointment of Dr Sanak Mishra as the Chief Executive Officer of Mittal Steel's greenfield project in Jharkhand. Till recently, Dr Mishra was a Member of the Board of Directors of Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) and Managing Director of Rourkela Steel Plant.

According to a press release issued on behalf of Mittal Steel, in his new capacity as Chief Executive, Dr Mishra's first task would be to oversee the detailed project report that is currently underway to identify the location of the steel plant, iron ore and coal mines and water resources for Mittal Steel's proposed mining and steel making operations in Jharkhand.

The proposed 12-million tonne steel plant would be built in two phases of six million tonnes each. The first phase is expected to be completed in 48 months while the second phase was expected to be completed in 54 months, according to the release.
