New Delhi , Jan. 16 ENGINE maker Cummins India Ltd and Cummins Westport Inc plan to export the B Gas International natural gas engines to locations such as South America, Eastern Europe and South-East Asian nations, according to company official. "We will look at Cummins India as a potential supplier to take the product and sell to other parts of the world," the Cummins Westport Inc General Manager (Europe, Middle East and Africa), Mr Greg Young, said. The company on Monday unveiled its B Gas International natural gas engines, technology for which is provided by Cummins Westport. The engines are being manufactured at Cummins India's facility at Daman, where it has a production capacity of 2,000 engines per annum. Mr Young said India not only provided cost benefits but also high-quality manufacturing and relatively cheaper components. The company is also supplying these new engines to Tata Motors, which has used them on its `Starbus'. "We are talking to almost all manufacturers for these engines. We are excited about the B Gas International range of products since these are the first natural gas engines in India that can power other applications such as concrete mixers, refuse trucks," said the Cummins India Vice-President (automotive business), Mr Arun Ramachandran.
