Concor net up 35% at Rs 136.81 cr

CONTAINER Corporation of India (Concor) has registered a 34.57 per cent growth with a net profit of Rs 136.81 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2005 as compared to a net profit of Rs 101.66 crore during the same quarter last fiscal.

There was an increase in net profit despite a 25 per cent increase in total haulage charges that the PSU pays to Indian Railways.

The haulage charges for the third quarter were Rs 327.28 crore as compared to Rs 261.6 crore during the third quarter of 2004-05. There is a marginal decline in staff costs, down to Rs 7.48 crore(Rs 7.89 crore).

The total income has gone up 24.8 per cent touching Rs 650.36 crore (Rs 521.08 crore).

The board of directors has declared an interim dividend of 75 per cent, amounting to Rs 48.74 crore.
