Nilgiri tea fetches record price

Kochi , Jan. 18

QUINSHOLA Clonal FOP (Nilgiri tea) fetched the record price of Rs 350 a kg at the Cochin Leaf Auction No. 3 held here on Wednesday.

"This is a record price for Nilgiri teas this year," an official release said. The estate, Quinshola, is owned by the Tamil Nadu Tea Plantation Corporation Ltd .

The particular invoice was sold by Carritt Moran & Co Private Ltd, Cochin and purchased by Hindustan Lever Ltd, for an overseas buyer, it added.
