Retailing Trent Q3 net up 24 pc at Rs 6.43 cr Our Bureau
MUMBAI: Trent Ltd has reported a 24-per cent increase in its third quarter net profit at Rs 6.43 crore (Rs 5.18 crore). An increase in revenue boosted the company's profitability. Total income for the December 2005 quarter stood at Rs 96.37 crore (Rs 71.71 crore). The company said retail sales increased 38 per cent and contribution of the retail business has also improved substantially. For the nine-month period ending December 2005, Trent reported a net profit of Rs 17.40 crore (Rs 12.13 crore). Total income stood at Rs 261.42 crore (Rs 178.03 crore). Profit from retailing business increased to Rs 8.70 crore (Rs 4.46 crore) during the December 2005 quarter. Revenue from retailing moved up to Rs 95.27 crore (Rs 69.84 crore). On Wednesday, shares of Trent moved up Rs 39.45 or 4.24 per cent to Rs 969.95 on the BSE.
