Hikal net rises 19 pc

MUMBAI: Hikal Ltd has registered 19.2 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 9.9 crore (Rs 8.3 crore) for the quarter ended December 2005. Net sales at Rs 55 crore (Rs 44.7 crore) were up 23.04 per cent from earlier.

The board of directors at a meeting on Thursday declared an interim dividend of 30 per cent.

During the quarter, the company entered into an agreement with one of the subsidiary companies of the $20-billion Sinochem Corporation of China by acquiring a minority stake, a Hikal note said.
