Vijaya Bank inks pact with SME rating firm

Bangalore , Jan 19

VIJAYA Bank has signed a MoU with SME Rating Agency of India Ltd (SMERA), which enables independent third-party assessment of SMEs' financial position and several qualitative factors, according to a release.

The release also said that the rating exercise would be beneficial to the SMEs as it enables them to identify their strengths and weaknesses.

Financing the SME sector is being accorded top priority by Vijaya Bank; the bank is aiming at doubling its SME portfolio within five years.
