Monorail in Chennai

It is good news that Chennai will have a monorail system in 10 years. This system will reduce the congestion on the roads. The Chennai Metropolitan Transport Corporation has identified 450 principal, routes that will form an integrated inter-nodal network. The planners could explore whether the rail system could be made circular, like Mudrika transport service in Delhi, so that all peripheral areas could be covered.

This will reduce pressure not only on the city transport but also on the suburban rail services. With the increase in the number of vehicles, the monorail system would be ideal provided it is safe, cost-effective, environmental friendly.
