Mergers & Acquisitions Delta & Pine Land buys Vikki's Agrotech Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Jan. 22 DELTA and Pine Land Company (D&PL), a Mississippi, US-based, agri-business company, has acquired Vikki's Agrotech Pvt Ltd, a commercial seed business firm in Hyderabad. Vikki's Agrotech holds licences to Monsanto's Bollgard and Bollgard II technologies for India. Subject to regulatory approvals being received, Vikki's is planning to commercialise these Bollgard cotton hybrids in India in 2006. D&PL, in a press release here, has said the company continues to consider other additional business opportunities, including acquisitions in the Indian market. D&PL, through its subsidiary, Deltapine India Seed Pvt Ltd, has also established a research programme in the northern region to develop products for the Punjab region. D&PL is a leading commercial breeder, producer and marketer of cotton planting seed.
