Software Zensar, NRI developing next phase of software migration solution `Sitar' Our Bureau
Pune , Jan. 22 ZENSAR Technologies Ltd, a software and BPO services provider, and NRI (Nomura Research Institute), Japan, have moved on to the next phase of their software migration solution to transfer legacy systems to the open source platform. This phase, which was confirmed by NRI after discussions in Japan and India, spans 18 months and is worth over $10 million to Zensar. The software migration solution is called `Sitar' (Solution Initiative for Transformation and Re-engineering). NRI's Corporate-Vice President, Mr Ishibashi, said, "This relationship with Zensar is very strategic to NRI in achieving the leadership space in the application modernisation migration market in Japan. The last one year of pilot implementation has helped both parties achieve the process maturity required for the Japanese market." NRI's internal projects are currently being handled by the Zensar teams. Legacy migration is a system solution that transfers work applications running on legacy (existing) systems such as mainframes and office computers to open source platforms at a low cost. Q3 revenues up Mr Ganesh Natarajan, Deputy Chairman and Managing Director, Zensar, said the consolidated Q3 revenues were up 20 per cent at 109.28 crore compared to Rs 90.97 crore in the year-ago period. Its consolidated profits were up 16 per cent at Rs 8.40 crore this quarter (Rs 7.26 crore). Zensar has also posted a growth of 10 per cent in revenues and a 91 per cent rise in consolidated profits on a sequential basis.
