Quality award for Manipal Hospital

BANGALORE'S Manipal Hospital has received the Golden Peacock National Quality Award in the Service category.

Manipal Hospital is the first healthcare service provider to win in this segment, according to a press release from the hospital.

Mr R. Basil, Director and CEO, Manipal Health Systems, received the award during the 16th World Congress on Total Quality in New Delhi last week..

The hospital is certified for ISO 900 1: 2000 by TUV Rhineland for clinical protocols, nursing care, diagnostic services and allied areas. Its diagnostic services are accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratory.

Dr Ramdas Pai, Chairman, Manipal Education and Medical Group, said, "The group has a structured quality initiative that helps in achieving business specific accreditations, which are above the quality management systems in practice. These accreditation and certifications are reassurances to patients, consultants and referring laboratories that our services are aligned with the best practices across the globe."

The annual award includes a trophy and a certificate for the top two in excellence in quality, corporate governance, CSR, innovation, training, environment management, ecological leadership and business leadership.
