Tripping fortunes

A worker plucking tea leaves at a plantation in Kotagiri in Nilgiris district, Tamil Nadu. Rise in production coupled with a drop in exports has resulted in the tea prices slipping. The high wages and input costs have resulted in the quality of production declining in some plantations.
