Irrigation projects: Finance Minister asks AP to send team to Delhi

THE Union Finance Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, who has offered to help the Andhra Pradesh Government in completing the irrigation projects, has asked the State Government to send a team to New Delhi to discuss the issue further.

Responding to a presentation made by a team, headed by Mr Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Major Irrigation, on the irrigation projects being taken up in the State, Mr Chidambaram said that a solution could be found to meet the financial needs.

Talking to reporters later, the Finance Minister said he was impressed by the Government's initiative.
