West Coast net up at Rs 10.56 cr

KOLKATA: West Coast Paper Mills Ltd (WCPMA) has been able to maintain the profitability in all the three quarters in the current fiscal following revision in the sale prices of paper/paperboard and duplex board in October and November 2005.

The company earned a net profit of about Rs 10.56 crore on a sales turnover of about Rs 133.8 crore in the quarter ended December, 2005 as compared to about Rs 5.72 crore and a sales turnover of about Rs 113.6 crore during the same period last year, respectively.

Net sales and net profit for the nine-month period ended December, 2005 were about Rs 397 crore (Rs 343 crore) and Rs 30.55 crore (Rs 16.5 crore).

Production and sale of paper/paperboard and duplex for the nine-month under review were about 1,33,000 tonnes and 1,40,000 tonnes as against about 1,28,910 tonnes and 1,25,000 tonnes respectively.
